You’ve probably heard of the cloud before. Surveys indicate that most companies are using some sort of cloud services. But what is the cloud? What is used for? How can you use it safely?
In contrast, cloud computing refers to a style of computing in which applications and data are accessed remotely. There are several forms of the cloud, but in this lesson, we’ll be focused on the online services. With an online service, our files or applications are off-site on an outside server, managed by another organization. Files stored in such a manner require an Internet connection to be accessed.
